Chasing Bigfoot and Filming in the Redwoods

This past spring, Deep Trouble loaded up the van and hit the road from British Columbia down the West Coast to California. We always love the magic of a good road trip—the endless coffee, the backseat guitars, the questionable gas station snacks—and this one came with a mission: to shoot a video for our song “What I Believe.”

When we started brainstorming locations, we kept coming back to one idea: the legendary Redwood Forest. There’s something about those towering giants that makes you feel both small and unstoppable at the same time. It’s a place where myths and legends live, and that’s what sparked the concept for the video.

If you’ve spent any time in Northern California, you know Bigfoot looms large… on postcards, on wooden carvings, even on local beer labels. Whether you believe or not, the legend is everywhere. We decided to lean into that spirit and tie it to the song’s theme: the idea that belief often only becomes real when you actually see it with your own eyes.

So, between the misty trails, giant trunks, and the occasional feeling that something was watching us, we set out to capture both the mystery of the forest and the conviction behind the lyrics. No confirmed Sasquatch sightings this time (though Cole is pretty scary in the mornings), but the vibe was exactly what we were chasing.

The result is a mix of raw performance and playful myth-hunting, set against one of the most awe-inspiring backdrops we’ve ever stood in. Whether or not you believe in Bigfoot, we hope the video makes you believe in the power of a road trip, a band chasing a dream, and the magic of seeing something with your own eyes.
